Hurry Up and Wait

By Shannon

It’s been a bit since we’ve last shared, so, what have we been doing while we wait to find our sailboat? We have been exploring our neighborhood, city, island and beyond.

We have absolutely fallen in love with Cocoa Beach. Everyone we have met is friendly and kind. We are slowly checking out the local shops and restaurants and have become frequent visitors to our local Ace Hardware. There are murals everywhere depicting sea life as well as space.

This mural can be found near a bakery downtown
Even Henry is welcome at our favorite Italian Sandwich Shop
Also at The Tiny Turtle a local Caribbean restaurant

There are so many dogs of all breeds living and visiting near our apartment. As we are across the street from a dog beach our daily visits allow us to meet many more as well as observing sunrises & sunsets and the occasional rocket launch.

Henry and his friend Koa love to chase a tennis ball around the beach
So many beautiful sunsets

We have been often reminded by more experienced sailors that patience is the greatest asset when looking to live aboard. Buying the wrong boat can crash your dreams causing heartache instead of the adventure you were seeking. Thank you for waiting with us as we search for the sailboat that will lead us on wild adventures.
